Good day my fellow broke college students, guess what spectacular day is approaching us?!?!
If you guessed Halloween, you are correct!!

I can easily say Halloween is my absolutely favorite holiday and always has been. Ever since I was a little girl I loved putting on whatever costume my Mother ended up making me that year and I would strut my way down the street to pick up that good good. That good good being free candy of course.

Now, years later here I am making my own costumes and still strutting my stuff but this time into college Halloween parties where the expectations are a little bit higher if I do say so myself.
Sexy or cute? Couple costume or BFF costume? Single and ready to mingle or don't talk to me I just want to enjoy my drink costume? Whatever your case may be, worry no more! I have come up with a list of costumes that will get all those creative juices flowing and hopefully inspire you to head on over to your local craft store and turn something in your closet into something fabulous.

Couple Costumes:

1. Firefighter & Dalmatian
Because girls don't always have to be the ones showing some skin.

2. Hunter and his deer
Because there's always that guy friend that doesn't want to got all out.

3. Woody and Buzz
And then there's the guy friend who will dress up as anything you want him to if he gets to see you walk around in a bra and tutu.
4. 50 Shades of Grey
Not really a DIY, but it's most likely in your closet. The clothes. Not the handcuffs. I hope.
Keep it classy.

5. Chuckie and his Bride
For those who like Halloween because of the scary costumes.

6. The Purge Couple

And for those who like a mix of both classy and scary.

7. Hugh Hefner and his bunny
And last but not least, for that couple that just wants to look sexy AF.

BFF Costumes: Costumes you could do alone but it would feel like your missing your other half.

1. Serena to my Blair
Starting it off nice and basic.
2. The Tiffany Dolls
Just kidding now we're starting it off nice and basic.

3. Strawberry to my Pineapple
Oh wait I lied again.
4. Sponge Bob and Patrick
Here we go. Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

5. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy
Sponge Bob Square Pants!! And these guys too.
6. Angel and Devil
Careful who you listen to.

For all my innocent ladies and gents out there who just want to have a good time without worrying about breaking an ankle or loosing some clothes.

1. Emperor Kuzco
Now why had I never thought of this?! Talk about a comfortable costume.

2. Russell & Mr. Fredrickson

Most adults are still kids at heart.
3.Wonder Woman

Because there's only one day a year you can pretend to have super powers and it be okay.

4. Derek Zoolander
The Blue Steel

5. Minnie Mouse
College just means bigger tutus right Mom?

6. Princess Tutus
Yes, honey. Shorter tutus and princess crowns.

Well my fellow broke college students, I hope these costumes inspired you in one way or another and help you figure out what you want to be for Halloween this year.
Remember to stay classy, be safe, and wear tutus!

the tutu part is for girls
....or guys, you do you!
No judgement here.

hello lovelies,

Yajaira here!! It is currently 2:39AM and I am still up. Doing what, you ask? Well procrastinating on studying and doing this instead of course! Haha!

Today on this lovely blog I'm going to share with you what I think of Justin Bieber's recent interview with Complex Magazine!

In the past couple of days the magazine Complex published a new article with the one and only Justin Bieber speaking about his faith. Of course after having an obsession with him since I was a freshman in high school, I decided to write a post on him and his faith!
After seeing Justin grow up in the media for about 7 years now, social media and crazy fanatic girls have not left him alone since the moment Baby and One Time hit the music industry. I being one of those crazy girls, have kept up to date with every new song, every bad press article and every bad video that comes out of Justin doing something inappropriate. However, I have also kept up with the good. I see the visits he makes at hospitals, the times he goes visits children in Africa and the multiple times that he has made someones dream come true by getting to meet them.
In the article The Deep End by Joe La Puma, Justin spoke up about his faith. This is not the first time that Justin has spoken about being a Christian. In the past, when he was first beginning his career, Justin mentioned and thanked God for all the things that were happening in his life. As he grew up, things spiraled out of control and his bad decisions were always there for all of the world to see. In The Deep End, Justin talked about how no Christian is perfect and how everyone makes mistakes. This article has become very popular in the past couple of days because some people see it as if he is just trying to redeem himself for the reputation he has had up to now and some people see it as a bold move as a Christian to speak up and say yes I have flaws, I mess up, but my God will always be there for me. I being also being a young Christian know what it is like to mess up multiple times and get judged because of things that we do.
My favorite part of the article was when Justin said, “At this point, my faith has gotten me to where I am. My faith has brought me to a whole other level. I love talking about my faith” because you can see the same boy just in a different time in his life.

In this article, Joe La Puma says “I have family members who talk a lot about religion.” almost as if it is a bad thing and Justin replies with him saying he knows many Christians can leave a bad taste in peoples mouth by being too pushy with religion. Christians over the past several years have gained bad reputations from trying to push religion down peoples throats and not being able to communicate their belief. I think that Justin did a great job of sharing with the world his faith and letting people around the world see that no Christian is perfect or is called to be perfect, we are only called to try and live our best like Jesus. Not be Jesus.

love, Yaya
So what's next?

To be completely honest, I have no clue but I do know this. Hard work and dedication always gets you somewhere and that somewhere might just be on fashion week a couple years from now. A girl can dream, am I right?

So let's begin. Today I just want to point out that I spend A LOT of time on social media. Some may say it's a waste of time, some may say it's unhealthy, some may even judge me hardcore and say I have no life. But let me just say something. There is nothing wrong with spending too much time on social media...if you are doing social media right.

How do you do social media right?

Let me explain. I currently probably have every social media app on the market. Why? Well, besides the fact that I get to keep up with friends and see who's getting married and popping out babies, I also get to see what is making headlines and learn ridiculous amounts of names that exist in the fashion industry world. Many times I have asked people "oh did you see that blank was wearing blank at blank's party?" and the usual response is "who's blank?" Like, HELLO people, wake up. Social media wasn't created just to stalk old boyfriends. Social media was created so that we could connect around the world. This is why I think I'm going to upload a daily blog on someone in the fashion industry. Both to help you and me learn more about this giant fashion world that I hope to be recognized in someday. For now, let me give you some must have Snapchat usernames that will keep you updated in the fashion world.

@glamourmag
@alluremag
@rackeddotcom
@fashionista_com
@gq_magazine
@elleusa
@instyle

Tip of the day: Use social media to your advantage, learn those big fashion industry names, look up models, see who's wearing who, and don't forget to check back with your lonely fashion blogger from Texas.

love always, Yaya

So I'm currently sitting on my bed watching House of DVF and I'm feeling a LOT inspired. I am currently 20  years old, in college, trying to get an education in fashion but the only problem... I live in Texas. Now I don't mean to complain but lets be honest, fashion in Texas can be...well, let's just say interesting. It's no California or New York but I believe that there's a reason God placed me here. Maybe it's so I would learn to love jeans or maybe to fall deep in love with all types of styles considering I don't have just one. I love all of them. Something about clothes just makes me smile. I always felt like I judged people so much but it wasn't until a while ago that I realized I wasn't even paying attention to the people, I was actually just looking at their clothes. I guess I could say I've always been a stylist, it just happened to be in my head.

Now here I am, 20 years and I've managed to procrastinate on everything. That time is over. I'm ready to take on the fashion world. So please, take a seat, and join me in my adventure into the fashion industry.

love Yaya
